You can install Atlas in two ways.
For PolyMC (Recommended, Easiest) / MultiMC
Click New Instance, and then Import from Zip
Click Browse, and select the zip you downloaded from the Discord.
Wait. Do not close the application. The process will take some time and the launcher will appear to crash, but in reality it is just importing.
Double click the new Instance to launch Atlas. It will take longer to load the first time compared to the subsequent times.
For Minecraft Launcher
You must have played Vanilla 1.18.2 and 1.19 before installing Atlas.
Install Fabric Loader for client. Choose version 1.18.2. Repeat the process with 1.19.
Create a new folder in your .minecraft folder. (Found in %appdata%)
Name this folder Atlas.
Open or extract the contents of the the zip you downloaded from the Discord into the new folder.
Open Minecraft Launcher and head to Installations.
Create a New Installation. Name it Atlas.
Select Version: release-fabric-loader-x.x.x-1.18.2
Click Browse in Game Directory, and select the folder that you created earlier.
Click More Options and delete the default JVM, and replace it with the ones listed on the Discord. There are different JVMs depending on how much RAM your PC has.
Open the Folder where Atlas is installed. You can tell if this is the folder where Atlas is installed if it contains "label.txt".
Open the update patch zip. Extract all the contents into the Atlas folder. When prompted, click Replace the files in the destination or replace all when prompted.
There may be extra instructions depending on the update. These will be written on the download page.
It is generally safe to change any keybinds that already have a key assigned to them. Don't add keybinds to keys that come unbound by default. You generally do not need to ever use those keys.
You may change any shader settings, although the preset profiles should already be perfectly tweaked.
Video settings can be freely changed, although we do not recommend setting it beyond 16 chunks as most computers will not be able to handle anything beyond that with shaders on.
Do not change mod settings without permission, as this can change the experience, mess things up, crash your game, or be considered cheating.
You can safely delete your old copy or instance of Atlas and reinstall it as you would the first time. Everything will be back to the default configuration. All your progress on the server is still saved and untouched. Any local singleplayer worlds and custom settings will be deleted.
Atlas by MeepishRealms (AtlasBMR) is a custom fork of the public Atlas Modpack (AtlasMP) with some extra added features or content.
You should not use the public Atlas Modpack when playing on our private server. You may be missing some features and may not be able to join correctly.
If your main menu logo says Atlas Modpack instead of Atlas by MeepishRealms, you may have installed the wrong version or your texture packs are not configured correctly. The "Hailstorm" texture pack should be on top of the "Snowstorm" texture pack.
Both are made in house by MeepishRealms. Everything is all original.
The little green checkmark or red cross checks if you are running the right version of Atlas. Hover over it for more details.
The symbol should be a green checkmark if you are running the correct and most up to date version of Atlas. A red cross indicates something is wrong.
You'll just have to find them naturally! Although here are some tips!
Most bosses have to be summoned at a structure and do not spawn naturally.
Some undead mobs drop an item that may help you find a boss...
Try putting an item together with a Lily of the Valley in the crafting table...
Try finding bastions, they might hold a few secrets...
Bosses can be respawned using a special recipe you can make in a pot.
Bosses regenerate if there are no players nearby! Don't let up!
Don't underestimate the vanilla bosses. They're out for blood!
The game is hard because vanilla is just too easy! Atlas forces you to work together with friends to survive.
Gang up with friends. It makes the game so much easier and fun. Don't try to go at it alone, you won't have a good time.
This is the best question. Okay, here we go!
Cooking and Farming
You'll find wild crops growing randomly! Pick one up to get started!
Start a farm and get growing! Some crops harvest normally, some are picked like berries, and others grow in shallow water!
You can create different dishes using different tools. Try cooking in a pot, over a stove/campfire, or just in a crafting table!
It is often more efficient to chop food up on a cutting board if you're making meals.
Some blocks and mobs drop special items if killed with a knife.
Adventuring and Dungeoneering
There are a myriad of new tools to help you explore! Look out for new recipes!
Beware of familiar mobs! They may be stronger now! Shields are no longer as abusable so make sure to run if you need to!
Sleeping bags can help you skip the night without changing your spawn!
New structures can be decoration or may contain deadly bosses. Beware.
Dungeons and strongholds may be a little different. Be careful!
Bosses may be able to be brought back to life if a special nectar is brewed in a pot...
Building and Exploring
New biomes are everywhere! Find the perfect one for your base by crafting a Nature's Compass!
Litematica can help you plan out your build in creative (separate world) and place a guide hologram in survival. You should try watching a YouTube tutorial for it first before you try it, it's a little complicated! Turn off your shaders by pressing "K" for it to work properly.
There are a few new blocks you can use in your builds, like pantries and stoves.
Community Fun
There is proximity voice chat! Try it out!
Press "V" to activate voice chat settings. You might have to change your speaker, microphone, and volume settings the first time.
There's loads of new PVP tricks, try them all!
Try creating a custom music disc for a musical party!
Two people can ride a horse together!
Trading halls are strongly, strongly discouraged. It is recommended to build a functioning village as a fun project instead.
Also, it should be noted that villagers have been nerfed in general to prevent exploiting the game and getting overpowered items easily.
All trading hall are subject to have their villagers replaced if an patch to villagers occurs. Full villages are exempt from this rule and can keep old villagers from older patches.
Auto farms are allowed, but we really don't want large scale auto farms as they can ruin the game. We reserve the right to shut down any auto farm if necessary.
